Check before use
Look for visible damage, loose parts, leaks, missing guards or anything different from the recorded handover condition.
Every hire includes clear guidance, equipment checks and safety information. Customers must use suitable PPE, follow instructions and stop immediately if something does not feel right.
Basic checks and good judgement prevent most avoidable problems.
Look for visible damage, loose parts, leaks, missing guards or anything different from the recorded handover condition.
Wear all protection listed for that item. PPE is not optional simply because the job will only take a few minutes.
Scan the QR code and review the operating instructions, warnings and safety information before starting.
Keep people, pets, vehicles and unnecessary objects away from the working area.
Never modify equipment, remove guards or use attachments that have not been supplied or approved.
Strange noises, vibration, smoke, overheating or unexpected operation means stop immediately and contact Lakeside.
Exact PPE requirements vary by item and will be shown in the hire guidance.
Protect against dust, debris, splashes and flying fragments.
Use suitable ear protection with loud powered equipment.
Use appropriate gloves where listed, without creating an entanglement risk.
Wear secure, closed footwear with suitable grip and protection.
Stop the equipment, switch it off safely and move away if there is smoke, burning smell, excessive vibration, leaking fuel, damage, unexpected movement or any other suspected fault. Do not attempt repairs or continue using it. Contact Lakeside and explain what happened.
Each item will have its own QR code linking directly to relevant guidance.
The QR system is designed to give customers the right information for the exact item being hired.
It is always better to pause and check than continue without confidence.
